Fun!

VERY solid game (If you like shooters). I'm most impressed with the speed at which this runs, without sacrificing graphical quality. There are plenty of horde shooter type flash games out there, and most have trouble keeping the frame rate up with half the polish this game has. Nice job guys!

Very well polished game....not as fun as I'd like

The best thing about this game has to be the 3d engine you made for it. It runs very smooth and everything looks crisp and clean. The controls are spot on and work like you would like them to without any noticable glitches or timing problems. Everything about the game is great...except for the fact that I got bored with it quickly. It might just be that is not my type of game, but it seemed to me like a platform game without all the extras. Like a very, very plain platformer (with 3d in flash!). I guess the engine can't make the game...

Phantasmagor responds:

Your right. Whilst the 3d may be impressive the game itself tends to be lacking. But as i have said before, this game was more of an experiment with my 3d engine than an attempt to make a perfect game. In the future I will take this idea futher.

Thanks for the review

Original and Fun

Wow, great idea for a game. I've never seen anything like it. I like physics games when they are done right. For the most part I loved it, but...
A couple things.
The explostion sound is jarring and annoying. It doesn't fit the rest of the game sounds.
The main menu is awesome and very well done, however the after game menu should be reduced to something more simple. You have to do many retrys on some levels and having to wait for the fade out and menu animation to retry again is annoying. The fading the game in and out after every death is annoying as well. I'd do a quick pop-up on the menu and also wait a second or two after you "die" before showing the menu so you can see the results of the explosion. It is too much of an annoying shock to have the menu start to go through it's slow fade and animation before you even saw what happened. With that, have the option to click and bring up the menu right away, but wait a sec or two before showing, and don't fade out the game or fade in.
Fix that and I'd give it a perfect 10. It's original AND fun, something of a rarity...

Wow

This game is great on so many levels. I love the free-form type play, the gameplay, and added details like the in-game map and bubble-pidea! Only problem I had with it was the sound. Some sounds didn't match well with others. Like you have this nice calm background music and some low pop sounds when you shoot, then when you go to pick up more bubbles (which should be a good thing) you hear this ear shattering twang! Fine tune the sounds and this would be a 10/10 for me.

For flash games...excellent

Got you hand it to you incorporating ragdoll physics into a flash game. There had to be some headaches programming this! The game was pretty fun to play and although there was some slowdown in certain areas, overall it ran very smooth considering all that was going on. Probably be an average game if I saw it written in C++ or something, but for pulling this off in Flash I give it a 10/10.

Nice Graphix, Fun Gameplay, Choppy Framerate

Not a bad Shoot 'em up. I had fun playing through it and was impressed with the graphics and animation considering it was a flash game. It looked like it could almost compete with a standalone download (if not for the short length). One major problem I had though is when there was too much on the screen the game got pretty choppy. I'm not sure what you programmed it in, but if you make it with AS3 I'm certain you can get the speed up to a nice smooth level. Keep up the good work!

Neat idea. Pretty simple.

The idea had some originality to it, but there wasn't much to the game overall. Also with unlimited clicking power, there really isn't much reason to have to click your mouse (besides getting a hand cramp).

Decent time waster

Ok game, not a whole lot to it. I liked some of the effects, but it overall seemed to be either running choppy (bad framerate) or was just the animation made it look that way. Smooth out the animation and frame rate and it would be a lot more fun to play.

Maxwelldoggums responds:

yeah, I really didn't take a lot of time making the running animation, I'll improve on that later.

Nice presentation but not much substance

I really liked the presentation of this game. Music fit in well and the black and white pictures gave it a calm feel. The game however was not much of a game. It would be fun to have a finding game in this area where you have to look at the pictures for something, but you couldn't spot any gnomes until you were right on them. So the game is more like just move your mouse around until you see the hand cursor game.

Nice presentation

I liked the way the 'game' was presented and it made it a lot more interesting to take the survey. Was enjoyabled.
By the way, I'm sorry you had to timeline animate all those letters! I've done something like that before, but you can make it easier by creating a function to do it. Have a function that accepts a string and then splits the string and on a timer spits out the letters into a text field. Could have it position it where you want as well. If you do something like this and don't understand the text write function idea, PM me and I'll help you out.

K-Guare responds:

Yes, when i started this game i had almost no actionscript experience, but,
now i'm a lot better at it. Next game i'm going to make a function just like that,
almost exactly like that actually, but,
i'll be sure to PM you if i need any help, Mctittles.
Aha, i read your name and i thought it said 'McTitties' :D
Lulz, anyways, thanks for reviewing :D
